André Guiboux (né en 1987) vit et travaille dans le sud de la France. Diplômé de l’École Supérieure d’Art de Grenoble, il développe depuis près de vingt ans une pratique située à la frontière de l’art, du rituel et de l’usage.

À travers des images, des prescriptions ou des gestes partagés, il cherche moins à produire des objets qu’à ouvrir des conditions de présence.

​

Il explore les liens entre le visible et l’invisible, les vivants et les absents, les lieux et les mémoires. Ses propositions prennent parfois la forme d’orotones consacrés au soleil, parfois celle d’une porte descendue dans la rue, d’un protocole à accomplir ou d’un simple geste transmis de personne à personne.

Son travail ne cherche pas à représenter le sacré mais à en rétablir les conditions de circulation. Il s’intéresse aux formes discrètes de transformation qui naissent lorsqu’une attention est partagée.

Ses œuvres ont été présentées dans de nombreux contextes internationaux : la Biennale des jeunes créateurs de Milan, le Winter Festival de Sarajevo, Orient’Art à Oujda, The Others à Turin (avec la galerie Pauline Pavec), ainsi qu’au Frac Centre-Val de Loire.

André Guiboux (born in 1987) lives and works in the south of France. A graduate of the Grenoble School of Art, he has developed over the past twenty years a practice situated at the intersection of art, ritual, and everyday use.

​

Through images, prescriptions, and shared gestures, he seeks less to produce objects than to create conditions for presence.

​

His work explores the relationships between the visible and the invisible, the living and the absent, places and memories. His projects may take the form of gold-toned photographic plates dedicated to the sun, a door carried into the street, a simple instruction to be enacted, or a gesture passed from one person to another.

​

Rather than representing the sacred, his practice seeks to restore the conditions through which it can circulate. He is interested in the subtle transformations that emerge when attention is shared.

His work has been shown in numerous international contexts: the Biennial of Young Creators in Milan, the Winter Festival in Sarajevo, Orient’Art in Oujda, The Others in Turin (with Pauline Pavec Gallery), and the Frac Centre-Val de Loire.
